Found this forum today, been on Pontiac Max performance, Chevy talk and Steves Nova Site for many years.
Havent had the oppertunity (or funds) to own a GTO yet, would love a 65 4sp... but did own a 65 Lemans (high school). Currently own a 70 Lemans Convertible (all original cruzer). Also have a 64 Nova (Street Sleeper).
Hope to get and give some good info based on real life experiences.

Thanks for letting me join

Welcome. While in high school in the 80s,my friends and I would make fun of all the Novas everywhere. Seemed like everybody had one. We were Pontiac snobs I guess. Now we look at them with great respect and wish there were more Novas on the roads.

I wouldnt call it snobby, when I had my 65 Lemans, Nova's are easy to make fun of... they're kind of a silly little disposable car that could throw a V8 in and scare the sh*t out of your friends... only these days seem to be getting cool. Very Hard to find a good one, they are rust buckets even 35 years ago when I was buying them. I got into nova's back in the late 80s only because of a deal on a 1966 SS 327 4sp from a friend of a freind of a neighbor who took it completely apart and just 'wanted it out of his garage'. We picked up the body on my buddies trailer with what seemed like 100 boxes of parts. I got it somewhat together and got it running, fell in love with the power in that light body the moment I hit the gas... then lost interest (read:got a serious girlfreind). Sold the car for 3x what I paid, but its probably worth 20x that these days. Next was the 64 I have now, bought from a guy I worked with who's mom Died (original owner). drove it for a summer and sold it to a buddy that needed a car to get to work. Next was a rusty 63 SS roller I found on the side of the road that someone put an original 12 bolt nova rear in. I rebuilt a 327 for that and had nothing but issues. I swear every part on that car either, broke or leaked or stopped working or smoked or made a terrible sound, ugh! I bought the 64 back from my buddy after he wrinkled the LF fender. I Stripped the 63 (yes I still have the 12 bolt) and took the body to the junk yard.. My 64 has had just about everything mechainical done to it, many things 2 or 3 times. I even spent a summer stripping and restoring the interior..Ive had 4 or 5 different small blocks in it, now a 400+hp 383 that makes amazing power, probably too much for the nova. I dont take many pics but Ill try to dig some up of the Nova and Lemans.
