Anyone else having trouble or notice the brakes making noise (scratching, scraping, squealing) when applying them at SLOW speeds like through a parking lot? Dealer said is was a characteristic of the metallic pads? Don't buy it, but they check them out and say everything is fine. ?? :confused

Yes, it is common on alot semi-metallic pads. You have a coupke of choices -
1) Live with it.
2) Buy a set of ceramic pads. Your stopping distance will increase, but, you will also have less brake dust as a positive to the tradeoff.
3)Try a set of generic semi-metallic pads. You'd be surprised how good some of the generic pads/rotors out there are (ie: alot of vettes use napa rotors/pads for the drags. rotors are very high quality).

I had a set of ceramic pads on a Z06 and I really didn't notice any difference in braking ability. And you are right about reducing the brake dust...virtually none.
