Hi.. I have purchased a SPC 7 cam from Melling. It is supposed to be a 9779068 Pontiac grind. However my engine builder does not believe it is ground correctly because the lobes are so flat. Does anyone have a 9068, or knows if these lobes are correct? He is worried the lifter will not ride correctly on this lobe. Thanks!

Have never heard of any problems with the Melling Pontiac cams.

I'm guessing that none of the Pontiac "clone cams" have lobes which are exactly identical to the original Pontiac cam lobes.

One that I don't think anybody has duplicated, is the original Pontiac 744 cam. It had a really "square" top. Lot's of extra effective duration, between .050 lift & max lift.

The Stock Eliminator cams have these type lobes, because they have a max lift, but are not limited in the amount of duration they can have.
