Hey, everyone. I'm a long-time car freak and had a '66 GTO for a short time almost 20 years ago. I'm looking at a nice '67 to buy, and have a question. The seller provided the document below and I don't know what all the codes mean, especially those in the red box. The car is supposed to be silver with a black vinyl top, dual gate, a/c and 400 HO. Any help would be appreciated.

If I get it, I'll be back with photos and info! Wish me luck!

WELCOME TO THE BOARD!
The build sheets are read by column numbers.
The bottom two numbers combined with the typed number (single number/Letter )on top of the two is the 3 digit option code.
I don't have or know all the decoding info but do have the following codes for this particular '67 breaks down as follows;
Column 47-2 = CONSOLE

50-3 (This is a combined code for 50-1 & 50-2) = PS & PB

53-1 = SOFT RAY GLASS ALL WINDOWS

58-2 = AC

71-C
72-B (These two columns are letter codes for Tires) CB= 7.75" x 14" White Line 4ply

74-E (This is the differential Gear code) E=2:93

75-Y
76-S (75&76 are a combined code for the engine) YS=400c/i 335hp

77-P I am not sure of?

78-1 is the Transmission code but I can't locate my legend for '67

If GTOJUNIOR is correct on his engine code, the engine is not the optional HO 360HP engine.

Block codes for the standard base GTO 335HP engine is YS and XE for the automatic.

Block codes for the 360HP HO engine is YZ and YI.

The document shows the Engine Unit Number 727730 which will be stamped on the front of the block and should be above or near the 2-letter block code.

I am not a trans code specialist, but the document lists Trans Unit Number and just a quick research on the net shows letter code PB to be a transmission for a 400CI 2 Bbl engine. Now even though it may not be correct for the 335HP 4 Bbl engine does not mean that it is not original to the car as Pontiac didn't always follow their own rules.

Unkown what the selling price is, but I would not pay for an HO engine when it is a 335HP engine. It is possible the engine was rebuilt to the HO specs - easy enough to do as it is basically a cam change and the better HO exhaust manifolds. So I would want to confirm this. Do your research before buying anything and look at it in person. And, I hate to say this, but documents can be altered and I would want to purchase my own PHS factory build sheet documents just to make sure the seller is honest.

The seller did send a photo of the block code. It matches the billing with 727730 and YS stamped below it. The car is being represented as something it is not. I certainly appreciate the help!
