Hi folks, ..had a chance to see 'Road & Tracks' july issue, & road test of the 07' GT500 shelby.

Displacement: 5.4 litres/330 cu. in. supercharged. 500 horses @ 6000 RPM, 480 lb ft. of torque @ 4500 RPM. Iron block..w/aluminum heads, DOHC 4-valve, chain drive.

Compression ratio: 8.4:1

Bore & stroke: 3.55 X 4.17

Final drive ratio: 3.31:1

Apparently it has even more horses than previously touted. Initially it was thought to be around 475 ponies. R &T says its 500 horses, ..BUT I was 'very' surprised by its performance numbers that actually 'mirror' the 05 & 06' GTO's.

With all the pomp & celebration regarding the return of the Shelby GT 500, & its being supercharged etc, ..I would honestly have thought the car would have been running in the low 4's from 0-60, & turning in 12.6 12.9's in the quarter;..especially a car putting down 500 horses?

No disrespect intended ...but I do not believe that S.C. 5.4 litre has anything on the LS2 engines. :cheers

Top speed: 150 MPH

TEST WEIGHT: 4,130 (surprise)

TEST CONDITIONS:
