I bought 2 GTO radios from salvage yard have receipt. Has any one figured out how to unlock radio yet? 1 has VIN # on it if that helps. I wanted to do the Aux In Mod but wanted to leave original radio alone.
The pin is supposed to be on a security card that comes with the car. My guess is they are long gone if you got your radios from a salvage yard. Best bet is take the VIN# to the dealer and see if he can get the pin for you, that will get you at least one
If the dealer cannot get your code .... your radios may be worthless..... I would think however that with the vin from the car, they should be able to get it for you. You will most probably have to have some sort of proof as ownership to the vin, and status of that vin.... not just a receipt from a junk yard. The dealers stand will be, how do we know the radio is not stolen,,,,,,, etc. If you know what I mean. I would assume that if you have a good rappore with the dealer they may work with you on it.
The salvage yard should be the owners of the cars, they should be the ones that can prove the validity of ownership.
Dealers are not just going to fork over info like that without some sort of verifications of ownership.
What kind of a deal did you get on the radios? just curious.
