Hi gang
The powers that be (Mrs Tk) has decided we (lol) shall put regular side mirrors on the Goat.
There isnt one on the passenger side and the drivers side is tiny .
How does the old one come off?
And how do I go about selecting 'modern' ones that fit?
Are there like holes with nuts or are they just held on with sheet metal screws?
I've never done mirrors before.....are there aftermarket ones for the Goat?
thanks as always
Tk

Check aimes Topkat, sounds like you have the adjustable rearveiw which they do not make a matching passenger side, they do make dual manual mirrors that are a bit bigger and match. please do not put "modern" mirrors on it. usually there are either studs that go through the panel with nuts you will need to get on from the back (remove inner doorpanel).

Bigger mirrors? That's ghey. Small screw at the front will loosen it from the base bracket, base bracket unbolts. Leave the mirrors alone and tell Ms TK to take a cab...(and let me know how that works out for you:)!

If you have the remote mirror you will not be able to find a match. I believe the remote mirrors were mounted farther aft than the dual mirrors as they did not have to worry about the passenger mirror being obscured by the vent window pillar (always something with these old cars).Problem is the remote driver side location will have a nickle size hole in the panel for the cable and the dual mirror base may not cover it all and if you mount the passenger side in that same location it will be obscured and useless anyways. Sit in your passengers seat and try and look through the drivers side mirror to get an idea. Believe me i think of this every time i try and slide into a lane to the right of me, lots of blind spots with the narrow recessed rear window and 7' long quarter panels.
