what is the general consensus of running a k&n filter and an slp maf as a starting point of easy bolt on adds????? on a 6 speed 04? lets here it fellers. :eek:

I would think you would want the engine to breath to start off with. CAI system with the K&N Aircharger would be a good start and with a good gulp of air I would then suggest a set of LT's to relieve that gulp of air. I wouldn't worry about MAF until your above 400RWHP. Maybe do a Throttle Body water bypass to help keep heat soak down. BMR sells a kit which contains caps that go on the TB but as far as the connecting pipe I didn't use it. I took the short hose from the TB and discarded, then you can just undue the long hose from the right side of TB "looking from drivers seat" and install to the water manifold that the short hose was hooked too. Maybe you would want to either polish your own TB bore or buy a polished TB and be sure to get a good tune and A/F mixture adjustment if necessary. Then keep modding from there until you want to stop.

I have an SLP maf, cai, SLP l.t., ls6 cam and SLP pulley, and I made 341 whp w/ cats on and no tune. Get some L.T.'s and cai, thats a good start! SLP l.t.'s on sale for 999 coated w/ cats!!! :cheers
