I was lasered by a motorcycle cop; 81 in 55
Paid the $285.00 fine yesterday and I spent over 600 bucks for the best escort radar detector and a laser shifter, today the same cop busted me in the same place doing 76 in a 55 in my pick-up.

I guess I need to slow down!

Sorry to hear of your ticket Mr JMVORBECK

I never exceed the speed limit more than 3mph even if everybody passes me. Traffic law enforcement is income generation for whatever level of government is doing the enforcement. The only way to beat them is to deny them the opportunity to reach into your pocket. Even if you hire a lawer and win you still lose. The indirect costs reflected in elevated insurance premiums really rankles.

You need a legal speeding outlet like open road racing or tracking your car. That cures the itch and helps you keep your foot out of it.

There is nothing more satisfing to me than driving a high performance car.

Thanks man, and the name is Jason. I dont know if I am able to drive and not exceed 3 over, some of the posted limits are just not practical. A 6 lane divided avenue @ 35MPH? Yeah. Like you said, I agree, its simply a revenue base they aggresively target. I hope this lawyer is able to get the ticket dismissed and then nobody (ins co.) is the wiser. I would happily pay the $175.50 fine. I look at it as a sin tax that gets leavied at me every year or so and I would pay it and keep going. I know how the world works. But you hit the nail on the head with the Ins. CO's. Thats the real ticket. I wonder how many people know that its the ins. co's that supply the law enforcement agencies with laser and radar detection equipment in the name of donations for tax write offs. It comes back to them 10 fold in premium hikes. Paying a lawyer double the fine to get the ticket thrown out is worth every penny. I love my performance car too, I look forward to my commute every day to spend some personal time with it. It doesnt matter what I drive I always get tickets, about 1 a year. Never catch a break or a warning, I need to figure out how to work the system.

My worst ticket was 24. But a cop pulled me over a isolated bridge and he said that he clocked me going 135. I personally do not think that was accurate. But he thought that I was in a Nissan Maxima(HAHA I know funny huh?) and wanted to know how I got it that high.

Long story short. He let me go and ended up becoming my neighbor about three months later.

I have now sold him a GTO and a Yukon.

My last 2 cars were a red supercharged TA and a yellow Honda S2000. I got tickets all the time. They were cop magnets. I bought the gray GTO figuring the color and pretty conservative styling would attract less attention. So far, so good; but I take it pretty easy, just in case. Not so with my FXT. That thing is amazing, it's invisible to cops. I've passed radar traps on the freeways going 15 - 20 over and they don't even look at me twice.

speeding tickets?

5'8 120lbs and cute. I stopped counting being pulled over for speeding at 10. No tickets, no written warnings. I've had several cops to wanted to have long conversations about the car once they figure out it is a GTO.

Don't even say that won't work with a female State Trooper, cause it did!!!! I just told her that it really pisses the guys off that I have a faster and cooler car than they do, she laughed and asked who my salesman was.

Last time I saw her, she was headed down 59 about 90mph in her new red GTO.

Speak nice, smile and don't ever lie about speeding, just couldn't resist to feel the power ever now and then, not all the time.

(Now I'm sure that I will buy a really big ticket soon. LMAO)

Hey now, my friend got his stock maxima (year 1999 or 2000 I think) to do 130 by flooring it while going down a long and fairly steep hill:lol:

The closet I came was on a 2 lane road. I was heading north and he was heading south. I saw the cherries come on. All he was doing was letting me know to slow it up a bit. We kept going on our merry way. In the northwoods they tend to look the other way unless you're doing something really stupid......

No tickets in the Goat...yet.

Last time I got pulled over was in my Z28. Had a minivan doing 5 under the limit(55) and decided to pass. Of course I opened her up a little and got pegged during that time. LEO came flying up behind me(never saw him)and pulled me over. He said he got me doing 77 in a 55. I did back down to 60ish after I cleared the minivan. Just gave me a ticket for not signaling lane change. Which I did not use my signal to pass anyways.

$100 tickets are cheap nowadays.

20 minutes after picking mine up I'm heading N on I5 out of Sacramento and a red Mustang GT rolls up in the passing lane gasses it a couple times and takes off. There are at least four kids in the car laughing and joking. 10 minutes later I see cop lights going on the side of the road and as I drive by I note one red Mustang GT with a car load of kids getting read the riot act. None so far!! To be fair though I had a few of them at that age! BTW, note that cops are going to be more likely to write tickets now than they have been the past few years in an effort to gain revenue during the economic downturn, you've been warned!
