Sorry if this has been asked before. I'm in need of the steering shaft that connects the column to the box for my 67 Le Mans, or a good bolt on replacement. Having a heck of a time finding a stock one or which after market piece is best. A link or part number would really help. Thank you!

1967 was a solid 1 part shaft from the steering wheel to the rag joint ...

in 68 they changed to the intermediate shaft that was removable

68 columns work in 67's

if you need the 68 intermediate shaft I have a real nice spare

Anybody tried an aftermarket shaft? Seen one with knuckles on the steering box and coming out of the firewall. It used a square tube that comes oversize and you can trim to fit. Just looking at the possibility to bypass the rag joint as I had to "trim" the rag joint because it was knocking the headers when I turned.

Much better to knock a dent in the header tube than compromise the rag joint that steers your car.
The headers are really old. Knocking a dent might cause it to just cave in :-(. Only one side of the RJ "ticked" the header and I removed the nut ground a slight angle on it and reinstalled.
