They can run 12.80s-12.90s stock. So stock for stock the LS2 is right next to it then it depends on mods that are done to either car. With bolt on mods and a tune thay can be low 12s high 11s b/c there stock turbos can be set at 25psi.

To save you some trouble, the GTO and STI are similar in 1/4 mile simply because of AWD and traction advantages with the subaru. Highway stock GTO>stock STI.

I got my ass schooled hard by one off the line to about 60. We both quit for traffic and off we went our sep ways. I do not have a clue about his mods if any, I am bone cold stock. My launch was so-so but he absolutely smoked me coming off. It was nuts. I MIGHT have reeled him in up top but I only say might cause the dude was gone. Pretty cool little hotrod.

A friend of mine has a Subie STi and took it to Salt Lake to Cobb Engineering. They did a phase one upgrade which included an increase in PSI at the turbo and some other things that he won't tell me about. That subie is a beast! Lots of power and grunt, but kinda weak on the top end.

Only with a fantastic 60ft, very cold weather and quite possibly a tailwind. That would be a BEST EVER time and in no way represent 99% of them.

And on the street from a roll, it's going to lose.

Subaru Sti

From a stand still the STI will get the jump the GTO and just about any other V8. With all wheel drive they will just dig in and go. The GTO has more HP and torque so once it gets traction it will just squat down in the rear gain on the STI quick and pass it. On the hiway from a rolling start [ say at 40 MPH] the GTO will take a deep breath and just pull away from it. The STI is no slouch, so form a stand still you better be on top of your game because if they get to much of a jump on you, you just might not catch up to it. If you race one let us know how you made out.

GOOD LUCK

Does anyone know how much HP the STI puts to the ground. With all wheel drive they must drop a lot from the Engine rated HP.

from what i read/saw they have about the same 20% loss we face through the drivetrain.
