I was thinking of converting over to Mobile 1 after 100k of conventional but am worried about issues like seals leaking due to the different makeups. Any thoughts? I am now driving an hour to work at at least 80mph. Maybe an oil cooler would be a better investment.

Synthetic is the way to go for modern engines, and if you DO wind up with some leaks you can always switch back. Leaks (if any) happen because the synthetic oil is "slicker" and thus harder to seal. Trying it won't damage your seals.
