Vent window fix

My driver side vent window has no friction and just flops open and closed. I used a borescope camera to look inside the door and saw this.
Do you think I can fix this by just buying a vent window hardware kit from Ames?
It looks like the threaded rod portion might be rusting away. Can this be replaced or does the whole vent window frame need to come out?

Well someone has been in there because it's missing the correct locking and maybe the fiber washers I can't quite tell if those are fibered. You might be able to tighten the nut up so there's more spring pressure but be careful, if you snap off the stud you're pulling the whole window out and buying a new one or at least the frame. I redid all the rubber on mine last winter and it ain't a fun job, I'll post some pictures later.

I've got to pull the inside door panels off at some point to add the springs and washers around the main window crank handles too. Those are missing. Guess I'll buy the vent window kit and give it a try.

It looks weird like someone extended the stud because it's rusty at the top and clean at the bottom, the washers with the little tab that keeps the nut from spinning seem to be missing so you might get away with tightening it but if the nut dose not turn easily stop or you'll break the stud off. The fibered washers let it turn under tension without galling or wearing the metal away if I understand it correctly but I'm no expert like most here are so maybe someone smarter will chime in.

Definately missing some parts and, what's there is in the wrong order. Getting all the parts in the right place and adding some turns to the nut would be where I'd start.

The tab pointing off to the left just above the nut should be bent down to touch a flat on the nut to keep it from backing off. So, mine had the nut, locking tab washer, spring, metal washer, phenolic washer, wing window bracket, phenolic washer, then the (what I will call) a keeper washer. That last piece has a hole through it with a flat side that matches the shaft and the outer perimeter is shaped such that it hits the bracket and will stop the wing window from being turned too far. It has to go on correctly and can be put on incorrectly.

Dang it @Baaad65 , where did you source your wing windows....the bottom of the river? That hardware looks pretty grime-E.

I knew that they looked great, I was just surprised at the amount of crud and rust on them...and you got them apart to freshen them up.

I don't think mine turned out as good as baaad65, but I did take them out and cleaned them up and replaced the rubber. It really cut down on the wind noise when the windows are up. Mine were the opposite, they barely moved and I was afraid I'd break something by opening them,so I took them apart and cleaned it all up.

That picture is with a lot penetrating oil on it, and I worked those nuts back and forth for a while. I'm sure my car sat in a field for years.
I got my new vent window hardware and when I removed the old parts, I can see it has substitute parts on it and I don't know how the new parts go. The parts I took out are a spring, lock washer, and a washer nut. There are no locking tab washer or fiber washers.

Does anyone have a photo of the order of assembly for these parts?

I have pictures of before and after of mine, the fibered washers are so things don't bind and the tabbed washer goes on just before the nut and after you get the swivel adjusted to your liking bend the tab up onto the flat of the nut and it locks it from spinning.
I can't tell from the greasy photos. It looks like one of the washers goes above the U shaped part of the window frame?

Sick467 has the best photo but it only shows half the parts that are in this kit. I have two more steel washers and one more fiber washer above what is shown there.

In any case, when I put put the parts on and tighten the nut, it just pulls the frame down into the rubber window gasket and binds the whole assembly so you can't close the vent window.
Seems like something is missing that prevents the spring from tightening.

On top of that, I found the driver side had a piece of regular screw stud welded onto the flatted shaft so none of the slotted washers will go on at all. I'll need an esna nut or two nuts jammed together. I tried removing the whole vent window assembly from the door but it must be epoxied in place. It's not budging.
