It's not the easiest job, I had to take the crank mechanism and window loose and drop it down in the door to get the vent assembly out, you do have all the screws out right?Thank's GTO4BEN and GTOJUNIOR. Those are perfect. Thanks for making that.
I removed three screws in the front upper door frame, a screw in the upper door panel, and the adjusting bolt in the door panel at the bottom. This is a 2 door sedan so there is no vertical piece in the front by the hinges like the frameless doors. I've got a body manual and it looks like it should at least be loose. I don't see any other fasteners in the exploded views. It's not the easiest job, I had to take the crank mechanism and window loose and drop it down in the door to get the vent assembly out, you do have all the screws out right?
Idk then maybe you're right, it is a good winter project and make sure you get the right gasket kit...sedan is different from coupe, idk why but I found out the hard way.I removed three screws in the front upper door frame, a screw in the upper door panel, and the adjusting bolt in the door panel at the bottom. Nothing moves at all except the vertical window guide wiggles at the bottom. It's like the upper portion is glued into place in the door frame, which is very likely.
I'm going to put the old hardware back on for now and live with the floppy vents until the winter when I won't be driving the car much and can spend a lot of time with it.
