Hi guys, I've done the introduction thing on that thread so now's the time for the questions to start. I just bought a 67 convertible that needs LOTS of work but I will enjoy the challenge. The guy said it runs but hasn't been started for a few years. I will be rebuilding the motor but would like to at least get it running before I start the resto work. That way I can see for myself what works and what doesn't before hand. My question is this. I plan on dropping the tank and flushing out the old fuel and try to drain the lines all the way to the carb. I want to get some 100LL AvGas to add to the tank so that if it has to stay there for a while, it wont gum up. Has anyone run AvGas in their cars and what may be the problem in it. I use it all the time for my lawn mower, Weed eater, chainsaw, etc as it makes it through the winter and keeps everything nice and clean. Will it kill an already old engine?
I don't have the car here yet as it's being shipped from Oklahoma (to No.CA) but here's a couple pics:

And here's what I WANT it to look like when done LOL

What Rukee said. No issues with avgas, it's a bit more volitile so it can run a bit leaner than regular fuel. But it will keep the engine from knocking. My '67 looked EXACTLY like yours when I bought it in '83 except it had the top still in place. Same faded gold paint, and beat gold interior. I changed it to Burgundy/Parchment in '93. It may go back to gold someday, just no time soon!

That gold interior doesn't do it for me so I'll change to black. I do like the gold exterior though.

Nice get!

If that's an original car, it's worth more with the factory colors. If you care.
Not the original 400 in it so no, not orig. Besides now I can do my thing to and not have to be so anal about staying factory. I want to do custom leather interior, PW maybe AC and a canvas top instead of vinyl. Seeing how I have my own upholstery shop, it's doable. All the stuff I do will be un-do if the next guy wants to.
