You guys are a bad influence I called to see what my GM card rebate is for the GTO and was told $5900, now I'm a player with this much discount. Kelly blue book says invoice is $31113 with msrp of 33495. Is this an accurate figure? Thanks

Bottom line on the invoice for my six speed is 31395, add say 250 and you have say 31,650. give or take a few bucks.

That starts you at 25,750 before the rebate, 20,250 after the rebate but before the coupons and dealer throw ins. Should I continue?

$31395, who told you that? Invoice is $29,410 add the 6-speed at full price and you still only get $30,105 add the dest. charge still only $30,805.

Yahoo Autos
MSN Autos

Cuspid, for an A4 with gas guzzler tax and dest. charge figure $31,110. Close to the $31,113 you originally found.

The sales manager showed me the tissue when I bought the car, $31,394.xx ronded to 31,400.

Two other dealers told me they would give me the car for invoice and knocked 1800 off sticker. Another dealer told me he was selling the car for $1200 under invoice for 30200. Another took 2800 off sticker and told me he was selling it for 1000 below sticker.

Maybe the dealers are in on a conspiracy with me, or maybe yahoo and msn are using pre production figures.

The dealers' invoice for the vehicle from the manufacturer doesn't reflect "holdback", a dollar amount (based on a % of cost I think) paid to the dealer after the vehicle is reported sold. I believe most domestic cars have holdback. Most imports (German anyway) don't.

So...a dealer can sell a car for invoice and still make money (although how a dealer can consistently dip into holdback and stay in business is beyond me - Service and Parts department profits I suppose). Those dealers who are REALLY motivated to sell will sell cars into holdback. Kelly, Yahoo, Edmunds, etc invoice prices obviously don't reflect holdback.

:)

$31,110 is corredt for the A4. And yes this does include the gas guzzler tax and destination charge. You need to also consider that there is a dealer holdback of $954. Subtract that and you have $30,156 for the A4.
