Some HiPerf engines of the era had pretty short warranties, like 3 months / 4000 miles (426 Hemi, 289 HiPo Ford, or no warranty at all (427 Medium Riser Ford).

I am betting that the Ram Air I, II, III, and IV came with a normal warranty, say 2 years / 24000 miles or something like that. Does anybody know?

I've searched but cant find this info anywhere, even in the old road tests I have.:banghead:

(I'd also bet the 421 Super Duty came with no warranty at all!):reddevil:

 5 Years/50,000 miles.

Dealer-installed warranty replacement engines were (most often) fitted blocks (consisting of a Block, a Crank, and Pistons fitted with rings). Everything else (that was still usable) from the original engine was reused. These fitted blocks received an ID stamp (in place of the normal VIN) that started with "SR" -- "SR" stood for "Service Replacement." As an example, my '70 GTO has a SR block with one replacement #12 head, but everything else is original use code/date code correct.
