You have to check out AVON tires. Not a household name but they have been around for years building racing tires. Check tire rack and go to the comparison chart to see Avon ratings over other tires - you'll be surprised. I have a set on my PT Cruiser GT and for $100 for ultra high performance all weather tires, you can't beat them.
