i have yet to tear into my dash. i would like to replace the original gauges w/ modern ones and would like to know if anyone has experience w/ this and can tell me, do just the gauges come out or does the dash framework around the gauges come out to?? thanks martin

The instrument bezel will need to be removed. Not that difficult, a few screws up into the dash. Looking up from the floor. I'm not sure of your 66, but the instruments will come out with the bezel, just unplug the wireing harnesses in the back. They may make updated instruments to fit yours, check with Year One, and Ames.
very simple to get to just remember the speedo cable and tag your wires e bay sell aft mkt bezels that hold aft mkt gauges and also sell them if you car is clean will loose value if you add aft mkt guages..
