There are midigating factors to this question but, I have had both. Owned a 2002 C5 and now I own a 2006 GTO and I can say this. When it comes to creature comforts, quality interiors and a nice quiet ride the GTO hands down. When it comes to the ability to add hp with minimal upgrades to drive line and fuel system Corvette. Handling and over all package for performance the C5. But again it also comes down to where your at in life. If your single with no kids the C5, if u have a family the GTO. I am 41 and had my C5 for 5 yrs C/H/I/E N2O and finished with an FI set up. If anything will make you think 2ice about owning a Corvette anything u buy expect to pay at least 500 dollars more just because its a Corvette.

So if u ask me the GTO all day. Alone with what I would have saved with the "Corvette tax" on the GTO I would have probably done a lot more to the ole goat, and not have tobhear the wife bitching like the penut teacher lol.

I own a 05 GTO and a 04 Z06. As stated, it's what you want in a car,
that's the determining factor. As for as parts, I've found the GTO parts higher
than C5 parts, and usually a LOT harder to find. The GTO is a much nicer
built car and a four seater, but the C5 has a lot more WOW factor.

I DD'd my GTO for 60k miles over 2.5 years and sold at about 80k miles. I currently DD my C5Z and have 30k on it in the last 2 years. Love both cars... but the GTO is a money pit. It was my only reason for selling it.
