Stock boosters are 11"

Stock VC's have rounded edges, so it's not enough to merely go by VC height. An aftermarket VC, of the same height, but with a square edge, will give trouble. Add poly locks to that, and forget it.

My advice to the OP, if you truly desire the aftermarket VC's, simply buy a cheap, 9" booster and swap it out. Its a fairly painless job.

On my 65 the MT's cleared a stock booster. I do have a summit front disc kit on - it uses later stock GM components - pretty sure the booster is 11" no issue getting valve covers on or off.

I have stock valve train with poly locks. if you are running a taller valvetrain and need to space the covers off the head you may have issues.

My old 67, with a stock booster, had roller rockers and polys. I tried to run plain-old-edelbrock-chrome VC's, same height, and NO Dice!

Back then, I wasnt wise enough to swap boosters, but I was definitely dumb enough to run stamped rockers on #7, while everything else had sweet anodized rollers!
